About Me

I am currently a senior print journalism major, political science minor at Howard University. I will graduate in May 2013, and in August will begin teaching in Dallas, Tx., as part of Teach for America. I intend to pursue a career in education policy and communications and have accepted a place at the Trachentberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at The George Washington University c/o 2017.
During my time at Howard, I have completed coursework relevant to both the journalism and political science fields, including Writing for the Media, Advanced Reporting and Writing, Communications Law, Political Behavior and National Government of the US, while maintaining a 3.69 GPA.  I  am  involved in several organizations on campus including the Howard Association of Black Journalists, Golden Key Honour Society, and Political Science Society.
I have written  for the collegiate publication 101 Magazine , and contributed to Howard’s student publication, The Hilltop. I also spent one semester working for the Howard University Office of Communications, where I contributed regularly to the Howard News Service. In addition to my work on campus, I have also interned at the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and on Capitol Hill as an intern for Congressman Jim Cooper. In the spring of 2012, I studied abroad studied in London, England at Richmond, the American International University in London and the following summer participated in the State Department sponsored Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, taking walks, blogging and traveling.
